“Data is not information, information is not knowledge, knowledge is not wisdom.
CLIFFORD STOLL

Description

THIS FORMATION IS FOR PRIESTS AND PARISH LEADERSHIP ONLY!

When Come & See, Go & Make was promulgated by Bishop Brian, parishes were given a worksheet activity booklet containing two important activities: “Pray, Reflect, and Discuss” and “The Parish I see”. One invited parishioners to explore the Bishop’s vision together and the other offered them a chance to prayerfully share their experience of parish life as it currently is. Both activities provide us with a rich set of data that can be weaponised to criticise and teardown or to honestly take the pulse of the community and see where we can start to implement renewal.

This formation will give a brief overview of the activities, explore the Diocesan data gathered, and show how parishes can process the data into information, extract knowledge from that information and, ultimately, act wisely in choosing our priorities.

What is the Formation Pathway?

To assist parish communities in understanding and implementing Come & See, Go & Make: A Vision for Parishes (CSGM), we have developed a program of formation, known as the Formation Pathway. Consisting of introductory, intermediate and advanced formation, the Formation Pathway is designed to explore core concepts of parish renewal, equip and encourage the faithful, and help to nurture the existing culture of growth – personally and as a community. For more information, please see the Formation Pathway overview.
