Professional Standards and Safeguarding

The Office of Professional Standards and Safeguarding (OPSS) is part of the Office of the Bishop and is focused on the development and maintenance of a safe institutional culture for both children and adults across all its sectors, services and activities. The OPSS is committed to following best practice and raising awareness through education and training to identify and address risk and harm in the diocesan setting. It supports the practical and consistent application of child safe standards provided by the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. The OPSS both acknowledges and is committed to the provision of ongoing support to victims and survivors of harm within the diocese.
