Jamberoo Abbey invites you to a face-to-face retreat titled “Encountering God in Lectio Divina.” Led by local author Sr. Antonia Curtis OSB, this weekend of prayer, learning, and reflection will focus on the practice of Lectio Divina, guided by Sr. Antonia’s newly published handbook, “I Give You My Word.”

Lectio divina is sacred reading. It is a way or prayer whereby we allow the Word of God to touch our hearts and change our lives. It is a dialogue of love between the person and God as heart speaks to heart through the Word. This weekend retreat focusses on the process of lectio divina by engaging participants in the ancient art of reading/praying with the word of God in scripture.

The retreat offers a chance to fully immerse yourself in the art of sacred reading, with the option to attend daily or stay at the Abbey in cottage accommodation. Cottages must be vacated by 9 a.m. on Monday, 30th September 2024. Nearby Kiama also offers additional accommodation choices.

Participants can choose to stay for personal reflection after the retreat concludes on Sunday, 28th September 2024.

Book and pay for this retreat by ringing 02 4236 0011 Extension 114  or email [email protected]. A full retreat program will be made available to you when you book for this retreat.
