Are you searching for peace, renewal, or purpose? Whether facing challenges or simply wondering if there’s more to life, we all need HOPE—a hope that is real, lasting, and life-changing.

Join us for Hope for the Illawarra, a special event where inspiring music and dynamic speakers will share a powerful message from the Bible about the certain and everlasting hope found in Jesus Christ.

Bishop Brian Mascord warmly invites Catholics across the Diocese of Wollongong to attend this ecumenical event and bring others to hear the Gospel proclaimed anew. As we embrace our Jubilee Year of Hope, this is a unique opportunity to come together as a community and experience the love and joy of Christ.

Special Guests

Dr Michael Youssef was born in Egypt and lived in Lebanon and Australia before moving to the United States, where he fulfilled his dream of becoming an American citizen. He holds degrees from Moore College (Sydney), Fuller Theological Seminary (California), and a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology from Emory University.

In 1987, he founded The Church of The Apostles with fewer than 40 adults, growing it into a congregation of over 3,000. This church became the launching pad for Leading The Way, his international ministry, which now reaches millions worldwide.

Dr Youssef is known for his bold, biblical teaching, addressing today’s issues with clarity and conviction. He has authored more than 50 books, including Saving Christianity?, Is the End Near?, and Life-Changing Prayers. Despite his global influence, he serves as Leading The Way’s number one volunteer, receiving no compensation for his work or book sales.

He and his wife live in Atlanta, and they are blessed with four children and 15 grandchildren.
