CBC September 2023 Luncheon

Date: Friday 8 September, 2023
Time: 11:45am-2:00pm
Venue: Rydges Hotel, Campbelltown
Speaker: Pauline Carrigan OAM
Topic: Prevention through Education
Dress: Professional Attire
RSVP: August 31, 2023

In 2015, Pauline Carrigan OAM and her husband Hilton’s 24-year-old son Will took his life, and to this day they, family and friends are at a loss as to why this happened.

In the months following this tragedy to make sense of the senseless, Pauline researched the current state of the mental health crisis facing our nation.

What she found led her and her family to establish a charity in August 2016 with a belief that we could educate towards wellbeing literacy, skills and tools to build the resilience required to navigate the ups and downs throughout a life.

Where There’s a Will exists to create a community where enhanced mental health and wellbeing allows the Upper Hunter community to thrive and flourish. It identifies that the most effective way to effect true cultural change is to start in our schools.

Education is the key, more specificallypositive education.

They believe that “prevention through education” for all youth from preschool to Year 12 can equip children with the knowledge and skills to develop resilience and self awareness. They believe we can teach youth to build their own resource toolkit, so they can call on their strengths to make informed choices for their own wellbeing now, during and long after their formal education is completed.

Members and their guests are welcome! Members tickets are complimentary. Guests tickets are available for $132 each (inclusive of gst).
