LET’S GET READY FOR WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011 | MADRID
The itinerary for the Diocesan Pilgrimage to World Youth Day 2011 in Madrid is now available. The program begins in Paris and winds its way through some of the most beautiful and significant places of Christian pilgrimage in France - including Chartres, Taize, Paray le Monial, Ars, Le Puy and culminates in several days in the magnificent Marian shrine of Lourdes. The pilgrimage continues into the northern part of Spain, with a visit to the place of conversion of St Ignatius Loyola and the stunning and massive Cathedral of Burgos before travelling to the host city for WYD2011. After the events of WYD, we will fly to Rome to have five days to retreat together and reflect upon our time and experiences along these pilgrim roads.
NB. The pilgrimage is only open to pilgrims aged 18-35.

If cost is an issue, in exceptional circumstances it will be possible to shorten the itinerary by joining the pilgrimage later or returning to Australia directly after WYD. The Diocese will be meeting the cost of the upgrade to accommodation during the WYD week to University rooms, with no additional cost to pilgrims.
The pilgrimage will be accompanied by Loretta Brinkman, as well as Fr David Catterall and Fr Richard Healey. Bishop Peter Ingham will also be joining us in Lourdes and during the events of WYD in Madrid.
