We are excited to be returning for the second of our 2025 Catholic family camping weekends at Guntawang Catholic Youth Centre. This weekend is designed to bring together families of all ages, including couples with or without children, single parents with their children, and grandparents, to celebrate the incredible gift of family life.
Mark your calendars for a wonderful opportunity to connect with families from across the diocese in a laid-back setting. Enjoy shared meals, games, music, prayer, and Mass together. To secure your spot, register now.
Accommodation options
Campsite
This beautiful campsite offers plenty of space for families to set up a tent, caravan, camper trailer, or swag. These are unpowered and unwatered sites, but drinking water is available on-site. All rubbish and wastewater must be collected and disposed of thoughtfully. No pets are allowed on this site.
Bunk rooms
There are separate male and female bunk rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis. Parents or guardians who select this option must have a guardian staying with their children, as adults and children of all ages may be in each bunk room. Children must not be left alone in the bunk rooms or any other accommodation at any time during the event.
Toilets and showers
A male and female toilet block is available for campers, and each bunkhouse has a toilet. There are only four showers, but plenty of hot water. A family roster will be organised to ensure fair use.
Food and cooking facilities
This is a self-catered weekend, so families need to plan their own meals. There is a camp kitchen and eating area with access to:
- BBQ, gas cooktops, hot water, and sinks
- Small gas fridge for essentials (please bring your own esky and ice)
- Indoor and outdoor fire (weather permitting), with plenty of firewood on-site – camp oven cooking is an option
- Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted
Activities and games
There is plenty of space for fun and games, including:
- Soccer, touch football, basketball, volleyball, bocce, finska, and board games
- Bushwalks
- Campfire singalong (bring an instrument if you play)
