Living Our Faith in Christ - an annual seminar for ages 18+ on the relevance of the Second Vatican Council in living our faith in contemporary life. Keynote speaker Dr Bill Connell. The day includes catechesis, music and workshops focused on Social Justice, Liturgy, Leadership, and Family Life. Saturday 22 November 2008, Chevalier College, Bowral, 9.30am – 3.30pm. Diocesan Retreat & Mass on the beach - Come join Bishop Peter together with our WYD choir, for the Diocesan Vigil Mass on Saturday, 6 December, 5.30pm at Northbeach, Wollongong. From 2.00pm to 5.00pm, come for a retreat with Sr Hilda Scott at St Mary’s College, Wollongong. After the Mass a light supper will be served. ADVENT REFLECTIONS
As we look forward to the coming of Christmas this year, let's ask ourselves this question... is my waiting hope-filled?
The coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ is what we wait for each Advent.
We hope that God's love, justice and peace will be born into the world this year and reign in the hearts of all people.
As we prepare and wait in joyful hope, here is a prayer that we can pray together:
Our heavenly Father, as once again we prepare for Christmas,
help us to find time in our busy lives for quiet thought and prayer: that we may reflect upon the wonder of your love and allow the story of the Saviour's birth to penetrate our hearts and minds. So may our joy be deeper, our worship more real, and our lives worthier of all that you have done for us through the coming of your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A personal note from Christy Honeysett
Many people have asked me about where I am headed next, as I am finishing in the Youth & Young Adult Coordinator role on the 6 December (the Vigil Mass on the beach - what a great way to finish!).
Next year I will be working part-time for the Youth Mission Team, Wollongong. I have also applied to study my Graduate Diploma in Education (Art and Religion). The Youth Mission Team (YMT) facilitate seminars, retreats and programs in high schools and complement these programs with additional follow up activities, such as weekend camps, Friday night youth group, and youth events.
