From 9-14 July, 2008, as part of the lead up to WYD08 Week (15-20 July, 2008), the Diocese of Wollongong will welcome approximately 2,000 youth from around the world in a cultural exchange in the context of faith. This cultural exchange is known as Days in the Dioceses (DitD).

The purpose of DitD is to give visiting international pilgrims an opportunity to join local communities in prayer and celebration, to experience the real Australia beyond Sydney, and to energise the Church in the places they visit as they prepare for WYD08.
