CEC is the national faith promotion outreach of the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference, and operates under their general oversight. It is based in St Leonards, on Sydney's north shore.

This network consists of appointed parish faith formation representatives, those interested in faith formation, and representatives of other faith groups.
The network meets four times a year, exchanging faith initiatives and supporting upcoming initiatives for the diocese.
