News in Brief 173

on Tuesday, 09 April 2013. Posted in News in brief

Bishop Peter Ingham invites parish communities in each region to now gather and have our say about what we believe is the best way to configure ourselves to be bearers of Christ’s love. Come along to consider Mass times, the number of priests, parish boundaries and support for sacramental preparation and the many ministries and services in our region. Let us gather with other Catholics in our region to celebrate the strength of our unity, and the many gifts we can offer to share God’s love and build up the church:
• Southern Highlands 16 April , St Thomas Aquinas Hall, Bowral , 7.00pm – 9.30pm
• Eastern Macarthur 18 April , St John’s Hall, Campbelltown, 7.30pm – 9.30pm
• Western Macarthur 23 April , St Paul’s Hall, Camden, 7.00pm – 9.00pm
• Can’t make your regional time? 24 April , Xavier Centre, Wollongong, 7.30pm – 9.30pm
Please RSVP to Jane Edwards email or 4222 2404 and indicate which venue you will be attending.

Look around at Mass today, look around the school, look around the neighbourhood. The next priests to inspire and support our faith communities are among you. What may stir their hearts are words of affirmation from you. If you witness young men involved in prayer and with a love for our faith and community, take a moment to thank them for their engagement, “I think you would make a good priest.” When was the last time you affirmed someone in that way? For a young single man reading this, what is God whispering in your heart? Start a conversation with your local priest or Fr Richard Healey, vocations director, on 0401 621 591, .
