Bethzatha Fellowship with the Disabled

The Bethzatha Fellowship began in the Wollongong Diocese in 1981, the International year of the Disabled Person, in response to the expressed needs of disabled people and their parents and families.

Caritas Australia (Wollongong)

  • Caritas Australia is the Catholic agency for overseas aid and development. It helps people to help themselves, regardless of race, political beliefs, gender or religion and belongs to an international network of 154 organisations in 198 countries and territories.
  • It works with the local people of a particular country in all of its programs. Caritas calls these local agencies 'Partners'.

Catholic Earthcare

Catholic Earthcare Australia is an ecological agency established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference. Its mission is to help promote understanding among people that creation is sacred and endangered, and must be protected and preserved for present and future generations yet unborn.

Compeer

An award winning volunteer program which helps break down stigma associated with mental illness through friendship and social support.

Crossroads Christian Fellowship

Ecumenical group in the Shoalhaven for people with disabilities.

Eddy's Annexe, Towradgi

Conducted under the auspices of the Trustees of the Christian Brothers. Alternate education project for secondary students over the age of 15. Support youth accommodation, medium to long term.

Faith and Light Southern Highlands Community

Prayer and friendship for people with disabilities and their families and friends.

Good News Community Macarthur

Prayer and leisure program for adults with a disability. First Saturday of the month (usually) at St John the Evangelist Parish Hall, Cordeaux Street, Campbelltown.

Josephite Associates

As Josephite Associates we respond to the call to living the charism of St Mary of the Cross MacKillop in our daily lives in our own unique way. This call focuses on friendship, prayer and service. In the Wollongong Diocese, some Associates meet Monthly and some a little less frequently, depending where the meeting is held.

Seeks to promote awareness and action regarding social justice, peace and ecology issues.

Kalon House of Welcome, Claymore

  • Offering a house of welcome to the local community of Claymore.
  • Served by St Vincent de Paul Society, Good Samaritan Sisters and Department of Housing.

Legion of Mary

  • The Legion sees as its priority the spiritual and social welfare of each person.
  • Members visit families and the sick, both in homes and hospitals and through supporting parish life through many other activities.

Macarthur Catholic Social Justice Network

Forum for parish social justice representatives regarding local issues guided by Catholic social justice teachings.

Maryfields Day Recovery Centre

St Vincent de Paul Society runs this abstinence based day program structured around educational and therapeutic group work as well as social and support networks for clients and their families.

Office for the Participation of Women

The Office for the Participation of Women (OPW) was established by the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference and is mandated to act as a focal point for ongoing dialogue and the integration of ideas pertaining to women and their participation in the Catholic Church in Australia.

PALMS Australia

  • An international volunteer sending agency to reduce poverty through its skill exchange program.
  • Palms Australia started in Sydney in 1956 as the Paulian Association.

St Vincent de Paul Society

  • The mission of the Society is to deepen the Catholic faith of its members to go out into our nation to heighten the awareness of Jesus Christ. We do this by sharing ourselves - who we are and what we have - with the poor on a person to person basis.
  • The Society of St Vincent de Paul in Wollongong Diocese operates 24 centres of charity, 40 conferences based in parishes a number of school groups and a number of specialist welfare services. 

St Vincent de Paul Society Youth

Groups of young people across the diocese living the Society's mission through helping the disadvantaged, visiting prisoners and the elderly, helping with emergency visitation and deepening their spirituality and friendships.
