YOUR VOCATION
Each of us is precious in God’s eyes, and for each of us, God invites us into fullness of life. What is God calling you to be? Priests, deacons, religious, single, married – we all are called to special vocations. Speak to your priest today to find out more.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER 24 February, 2nd Sunday of Lent
The transfiguration of Jesus must have been an awesome event. So awesome that Peter wanted to remain there worshipping Jesus by erecting a tent. Jesus, however, knew that he must keep moving towards what he must “accomplish in Jerusalem”, his crucifixion. We too must keep moving and do what we can to hasten the coming of God’s kingdom.

The Feast of the Annunciation is internationally recognised as the DAY OF THE UNBORN CHILD. While the feast of the Annunciation will be celebrated on Monday, 8 April this year, Lent is a time to pray specially for all unborn children whose lives have been ended by abortion. On Sunday 17 March 2013 there is a 10.30am Mass at St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney, followed by the Angelus at 12noon and then a prayerful procession led by Bishop Julian Porteous through the streets of Sydney. At 1.30pm Benediction will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral following by afternoon tea with the Bishop in the Cathedral Hall.

SUPPORT YOUTH MISSION TEAM.
Each year, young people from across Australia give up a year of their life to join Youth Mission Team. This Team travels around to high schools and offers dynamic retreat days where these young people offer personal witness to what it means to be Catholic. They also support diocesan youth initiatives. They volunteer their time and so seek work for Mondays and Tuesdays in order to support themselves and their community. Three members of this year’s team in our Diocese are still looking for work on Mondays and Tuesdays. They have experience in areas such as retail, youth work, baby sitting and dance instruction. Do you know of a business that may be looking for these skills? Whoever employs them will not only gain their skills but know they are supporting the work of Youth Mission Team. Please contact Chris Brennan on 0433 636 359
