DIOCESE OF WOLLONGONG LITURGY FESTIVAL. Saturday, 29 October 2011.
St Mary Star of the Sea College, Harbour Street, Wollongong, 9.30am – 5.00pm.
Diocesan Mass at 6.00pm at St Francis Xavier's Cathedral. Refresh and reinvigorate our appreciation of liturgy through a day of uplifting music, stalls, workshops, good keynote speakers, networking and celebration of Mass together with our Bishop. There is a wonderful range of opportunities to consider: from formal to very informal ways of keeping up to date – in areas of theology, ministry, liturgy, outreach and pastoral living. LUMINOUS PEARL: THE TREASURE OF WOMEN'S PRAYER FOR A COSMIC VISION.

Last Sunday's Radio National Encounter program: Bridging the Divide, is really informative listening: a discussion with two prominent theologians attempting to transform the relationship between science and religion in new and fruitful ways - for the benefit of both, and for the environment. John Polkinghorne, Particle Physicist, Theologian and co-Director of the Psychology and Religion Research Group at Cambridge University.
Michael Northcott, Professor of Ethics at Edinburgh University, an Anglican theologian and a leading author in environmental theology.

PILGRIMS OF TRUTH, PILGRIMS OF PEACE.
A project of the Bishops Commission for Church Ministry, this gathering of reflection, dialogue and prayer for peace and justice in the world will coincide with the invitation from Pope Benedict XVI to leaders of the world's religious traditions to gather in Assisi for a prayer day of peace. Thursday, 27 and Friday 28 October 2011, Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney. Cost $130 full program.
